The Republic of Lithuania (Lithuania) is a country in the Baltic region of Europe. Situated on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea, to the southeast of Sweden and Denmark, the county is bordered by Latvia to the north, Belarus to the east and south, Poland to the south, and Kaliningrad Oblast (a Russian exclave) to the southwest. Lithuania has an estimated population of 2.8 million people as of 2019. The capital of Lithuania is Vilnius (the largest city). Lithuania is a great tourist destination with a fun and relaxing atmosphere.
Lithuanians are Balts and the official language, Lithuanian, is one of only two living languages in the Baltic branch of the Indo-Europea. Lithuania runs a unitary semi-presidential republic system of government with Gitanas NausÄ—da as President; Saulius Skvernelis as Prime Minister; and Seimas Speaker as Viktoras Pranckietis.
